Murray Residence
As the owner of a landscaping company, Peter Murray knows a good contractor when he sees one — and that’s why he counts himself as a satisfied Northwood Construction customer.
The Murrays were envisioning a major expansion of their home, featuring a new family room with custom windows looking out onto their back yard. The Murrays also wanted to make sure that the addition would blend in seamlessly with the older part of their house. To make sure the project met their requirements, choosing the right builder was a crucial decision. After speaking with several builders and architects, Murray recalls feeling most comfortable with Northwood’s ability to meet his needs.
“They were very agreeable to our ideas and vision,” he recalls, “and came up with several recommendations and solutions that impressed us.” Among other ideas, Northwood proposed an innovative use of hidden steel I-beams to effectively support and tie in the addition to the house, while maximizing the flow and sight lines.
Once the project began, Northwood lived up to the Murrays’ expectations. “They did all the right things, and the whole project was very smoothly run. They started when then they said they would, were there every day, and kept a very clean worksite. That was important, because they essentially had to take off the back of our house! We were looking for solid craftsmanship and quality at a fair price, and Northwood delivered.”
